COSM, New York, NY - September 21/22, 2007....

After a relatively uninspired and disjointed set by Swedish Duo, Ticon, Earthian saved the night with one of the finest closing progressive sets I've heard in a long long while.... The Spectra and Activate crews had everything in place for what was to be one of the best parties ever --- and it was exactly that indeed! But for the nine Boston folks who had come down to get down -- random circumstances and misplaced ego-trips beyond our control had lead overall frustration and confusion... Not even sets from one of the country's finest progressive DJ's (Gavin) and a pair of the world's finest producers (Ticon) could save us from malaise, insconsistency, and despair... But at 4:00 AM, as though some universal force just flipped a switch in our nine-headed consciousness, we all simultaneously "locked in." Some amazing music began to play from the sound system, and we danced and hooped non-stop until the lights went on a little after 5AM. That set catalyzed a 24 hour period of nothing but laughter and good times for us all... Had it not been for Earthian, I fear we would have left CoSM in the same unbalanced and seperated mindset that had marred the majority of the night...

  • omg yeah, that set was *amazing* ~ i haven't experienced anything that good in ages. wow. glad to share it with the sonic beating crew : )

    xoxo
    • wow! i can't believe i just read that Dave Henshaw *didn't* enjoy Ticon! What is this world coming to????
I had actually not heard anything much about how that party went....and especially surprised to read that after Ticon got such good reviews at Symbiosis..
      • yeah --- everyone has been saying they ROCKED Symbiosis... And I'm totally NOT saying that they DIDN'T rock Cosm... Their set, though, in my opinion - PALED in comparison to Earthian's set... But there was a full dance-floor totally rocking to Ticon. Personally, I wasn't feeling it (for many reasons - some having nothing to do with anything outside my own head) and my state of mind made the set rather blase...
